A brief introduction to Rubik's cubes

The Rubik's Cube was invented in 1974 by a Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture: Ernö Rubik. At the beginning, it came out as the Magic Cube. The puzzle was licensed to be sold by Ideal Toy Corp. in 1980. It became so popular, that as of January 2009, around 350 million cubes had been sold worldwide.

Although it reached its peak of fame in the early 1980s, it is still widely known and used. Solving methods and techniques have been developed and improved since then, and you will be able to find some of them in this page.
